The Bihar Government is running a special free coaching scheme to help talented students from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities prepare for competitive exams.
The goal is simple—give deserving students the right guidance so they can succeed in government job exams without worrying about expensive coaching fees.
Free Coaching for Top Exams
Under this scheme, the SC-ST Welfare Department provides completely free coaching for major competitive exams like Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).
Students also get training for other exams such as SSC, Railway Recruitment, Bihar Police, and teacher recruitment exams.
The focus is on quality teaching, proper guidance, and helping students build confidence to crack tough exams.
Real Results: Students Are Succeeding
This scheme is already showing strong results.
In 2025 alone, around 91 students cleared different competitive exams after receiving free coaching.
This proves that with the right support, students can achieve big goals without spending heavily on private coaching.
Coaching Centers Across Bihar
To make the scheme accessible, coaching centers (Pariksha Prashikshan Kendras) are running in multiple districts across the state.
These centers are located in cities like Patna, Gaya, Ara, Bhagalpur, Chhapra, Muzaffarpur, Saharsa, Purnia, Munger, and Darbhanga.
Around 2,400 students are currently getting free guidance at these centers, especially for high-level exams like UPSC and BPSC.
Extra Support for Management Exams
Apart from government job exams, students also get support for management entrance tests.
At the Chandragupta Institute of Management in Patna, a special Student Guidance Center provides free coaching for exams like CAT and GMAT.
Every year, about 60 students—mainly from SC/ST categories—benefit from this facility.
Who Can Apply?
To take advantage of this scheme, students must meet a few conditions:
They must be a permanent resident of Bihar
Their family income should be less than ₹3 lakh per year
They must belong to SC or ST category
