Bajaj Auto is set to unveil the world’s first CNG bike on July 5 in Pune, with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari present at the event.
While the official name has not been confirmed, it is speculated to be called ‘Bruzer,’ a name recently trademarked by Bajaj in India.
Why CNG Bikes?
With petrol prices hovering around Rs 100 in most parts of the country, and the complete shift to electric vehicles still distant, CNG bikes present an attractive alternative.
Bajaj aims to capitalize on this opportunity by being the first to introduce a CNG bike, potentially offering significant savings on fuel costs.
Possible Features of Bajaj CNG Bike
Engine and Frame
Frame: The bike is likely based on a double cradle frame.
Engine: Expected to feature a 110-150 cc sloper engine, possibly a 125 cc engine.
Fuel Options: The bike will run on both petrol and CNG, with an easy switch between the two.
Transmission: A 5-speed gearbox is anticipated.
Fuel Tank and CNG Integration
CNG Tank: Integrated within the bike’s structure for better protection.
Petrol Tank: Standard position with similar capacity to traditional petrol bikes.
Backup System: A small petrol tank to act as a backup when CNG is depleted, providing additional range.
Cost Benefits
Bajaj Auto claims that the new CNG bike will significantly reduce operating and fuel costs by 50-65 percent.
The bike is expected to be launched in two variants, offering consumers more choices and affordability.
