Background:

Air India, now under the Tata Group’s ownership since 2022, previously had a free baggage limit of up to 25 kg before its acquisition.

Last year, this limit was reduced to 20 kg, and now, it stands at 15 kg.

Maintaining 25 kg Luggage Limit:

Passengers booking tickets under the ‘Economy Flex’ category will continue to enjoy a baggage allowance of up to 25 kg.

Additionally, these passengers benefit from features such as no-change fees and other amenities.

Although ‘Economy Flex’ tickets may come with a slightly higher fare,

the added baggage allowance and other perks make them a preferred choice for many travelers.

Exciting New Routes:

In other news, Air India is set to launch a direct flight service from Delhi to Zurich, Switzerland, starting June 16.

Zurich will be the seventh European city served by Air India’s direct flights from India.

The service will operate four days a week, utilizing Boeing 787 aircraft with ‘Economy’ and ‘Business’ class options.

Currently, Air India operates 60 weekly flights to six European cities, including Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, and Vienna.
