Aadhaar Update: List Of Documents & Process to update DOB on Aadhaar

New Delhi:

UIDAI now permits all Aadhaar cardholders to modify their Name, Address, and Date of Birth details using valid supporting documents.

Interestingly, updates for mobile numbers, email IDs, gender, photographs, or other biometric information don’t require any documentation.

The UIDAI has highlighted specific documents considered acceptable for Aadhaar card modifications.

The modifications also include Date of Birth (DOB) and Name/Address details:

1) Passport

2) Service Photo Identity Card issued by Central Govt./ State Govt./ PSU/ Regulatory Bodies/ Statutory Bodies

3) Pensioner Photo Identity Card / Freedom Fighter Photo Identity Card / Pension Payment Order issued by Central Govt./ State Govt./ PSU/ Regulatory Bodies/ Statutory Bodies.

4) Mark sheet/ Certificate issued by recognized Board of Education/ University

5) Transgender Identity Card / Certificate issued under the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019

6) Birth Certificate issued by Authorized Authority (in the respective States) under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 read with Registration of Births and Deaths Rules 1999/2000/2002 of respective States.

7) In specific cases of DoB Change: Self Declaration in the specified format along with Birth Certificate issued by Authorized Authority (in the respective States) under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 read with Registration of Births and Deaths Rules 1999/2000/2002 of respective States

To ensure accurate data, UIDAI recommends updating supporting documents in Aadhaar at least once every ten years from the enrollment date.

Additionally, they’ve launched a free Aadhaar document update service for citizens, an extension of their existing initiative.

This free service is accessible exclusively through the myAadhaar portal until December 31.

Alternatively, physical Aadhaar centers can be used, albeit with a Rs 50 fee for updates.
