Air India to Soar with 400 New Weekly Flights by March 2024; See New Routes

Air India, the nation’s largest airline, is all set to soar to new heights with the commencement of 400 additional weekly flights in the coming six months.

These flights will encompass both domestic and international routes, as part of the airline’s expansive winter schedule for 2023.

Air India, owned by the Tata Group, is committed to expanding its flight operations by March 2024, with a focus on increasing services to North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

400 New Weekly Flights: A Balanced Expansion

Air India is geared to welcome new aircraft deliveries in the next half-year. It plans to strengthen its domestic network by introducing 200 new weekly flights, spanning key cities like Mumbai and Delhi.

Simultaneously, the airline will commence 200 weekly international flights, with 80 of them already in operation.

Furthermore, Air India is set to unveil four fresh international destinations in the near future.

Increased Connectivity: Eight International Routes

In alignment with the winter schedule for 2023, Air India has substantially enhanced the frequency of weekly flights in both directions on eight international routes across Southeast Asia, the USA, and Europe.

This includes boosting weekly flights on popular routes such as Mumbai-Singapore, Delhi-Bangkok, Delhi-Dhaka, Delhi-Newark (New Jersey), Delhi-San Francisco, Delhi-Washington D.C., Delhi-Copenhagen, Delhi-Milan, and Mumbai-Doha.

These improvements reflect the airline’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for international travel.

New Routes and Upcoming Aircraft Additions

Air India has already initiated operations on four new routes, connecting Bengaluru-Singapore, Kochi-Doha, Kolkata-Bangkok, and Mumbai-Melbourne.

In the lead-up to March 2024, the airline is set to incorporate over 30 widebody and narrowbody aircraft into its fleet.

This includes six A350s, four B777s, and 20 A320neos, marking a significant expansion in its capacity and capabilities.
