Mumbai :
Kia India is making waves in the compact SUV segment with its strategic move to introduce an electric sunroof variant of the popular Sonet SUV.
This comes ahead of the anticipated facelift of the Sonet, which has been spotted undergoing testing on Indian roads.
The new variant, available exclusively in the Sonet Smartstream G1.2 HTK+ trim, boasts a price tag of Rs 9.76 lakh.
As the Sonet takes on rivals like the Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon in the sub-4 meter SUV market, this addition is set to enhance Kia’s competitive edge.
Growing Popularity and Sales
The Kia Sonet has enjoyed remarkable success in its category, with over 3.3 lakh units sold to date. Acknowledging the increasing significance of sunroofs as a sought-after feature among car buyers, Kia’s introduction of the electric sunroof is expected to further bolster the Sonet’s already impressive sales figures.
Engine and Features
The new Kia Sonet Electric Sunroof variant is powered by the Smartstream 1.2-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, delivering a robust 83PS and 115Nm of torque.
Alongside the electric sunroof, this variant boasts an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The cabin is enriched with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, as well as fully automatic AC and automatic headlamps.
Kia takes customer satisfaction seriously, offering a comprehensive package that includes a 3-year maintenance plan and 5 years of warranty coverage, all available with a zero down payment option.
Luxury and Customer Satisfaction
Myung-Sik Sohn, Chief Sales & Business Officer at Kia India, highlighted the brand’s commitment to redefining norms and elevating driving experiences through innovation.
He emphasized that the addition of the electric sunroof to the Smartstream G1.2 HTK+ variant aligns with this philosophy, catering to customer needs while pushing the boundaries of luxury and value.
With this move, Kia aims to solidify its position as a front-runner in the competitive compact SUV market.
