Indian Government restores E-Visa Facility for Saudi Arabian Citizens (See Process)

In a significant development, the Government of India has reopened the e-Visa facility for Saudi Arabian citizens, allowing them to travel to India easily. This news has been officially confirmed by the Indian Embassy in Riyadh.

All Sub-Categories of E-Visas Restored

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh announced that all five sub-categories of e-Visas, namely e-Tourist Visa, e-Business Visa, e-Medical Visa, as well as Medical Attendant Visa and e-Conference Visa, have been reinstated with immediate effect.

This decision aims to facilitate travel and enhance convenience for Saudi citizens.

E-Visa Service after 2 years

After its launch in 2019, the e-visa service for Saudi citizens had to be temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, effective from March 9, 2023, the service has been reinstated, allowing applicants to submit their applications and fees at least four days prior to their intended travel date.

Once approved, they can proceed with their travel plans.

Online Application Process for E-Visa

Applying for an e-visa is now easier than ever with a four-step online process.

To begin, applicants need to visit the official website of the Indian visa application service (https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html) and follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit the official website: indianvisaonline.gov.in
  2. Complete the online application form and upload a recent photograph and the passport page.
  3. Make the payment for the e-Visa fees using a credit/debit card or payment wallet.
  4. Receive the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) online, which will be sent to the provided email address.
  5. Print the ETA and present it at the Immigration Check Post upon arrival in India, where the e-Visa will be stamped on the passport.

Saudi Arabia Exempts Indians from PCC Requirement

In a reciprocal gesture, Saudi Arabia has exempted Indian nationals from submitting a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) when applying for a visa to visit the country.

The Saudi Embassy in New Delhi announced this decision, highlighting the strong ties and strategic partnership between the two nations. This move aims to further strengthen the bilateral relationship between India and Saudi Arabia.

Our Thoughts

This move from Indian Government will not only help saudi arabian citizens but will also help Indians. Saudi Government is also working on several programs to reciprocate this move. On a long run, this day had to come sooner or later.

It is very good that it came so fast. This E-Visa Facility will help thousands of Saudi Nationals to easily apply for Indian Visa and visit our country.
