Etihad Rail Dubai service starts on September 30, connecting Dubai with Abu Dhabi in about 64 minutes and Fujairah in around 70 minutes.
The new passenger service will give travellers another intercity rail option across the UAE.
The service will operate from the newly inaugurated Al Yalayis Station in Jumeirah Golf Estates.
The station is linked to the Dubai Metro through a dedicated pedestrian bridge, allowing passengers to connect between the two transport systems.
Etihad Rail Dubai Service Starts September 30
The Dubai-Abu Dhabi passenger service will offer five trains a day in each direction during the initial schedule. The journey between the two cities is scheduled to take around 64 minutes.
The Dubai-Fujairah route will have one train in each direction each day, with the journey taking approximately 70 minutes.
The service will connect Dubai’s Al Yalayis Station with Fujairah.
Etihad Rail Fares From Dubai
For travel between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Comfort Class fares start at AED 39, while Premium Class fares start at AED 109. On the Dubai-Fujairah route, fares begin at AED 29 for Comfort Class and AED 89 for Premium Class.
Tickets are available through the Etihad Rail mobile application, website and ticket vending machines at stations.
Passengers can choose between Comfort and Premium classes, with different fare options available within each class.
Dubai Station Connects With Metro
The Al Yalayis station is designed to connect Etihad Rail with Dubai’s wider public transport network.
A dedicated pedestrian bridge provides access to the Dubai Metro, while the station also has road transport and parking facilities.
Etihad Rail has also integrated its service with Dubai’s Nol system.
This allows passengers to use a single QR code for journeys involving Etihad Rail as well as Dubai Metro, tram and bus services.
Etihad Rail Dubai Service Expands UAE Network
The Dubai launch forms part of the wider expansion of the UAE’s national passenger rail network.
The network began passenger operations between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah in June, with Dubai and Al Dhaid scheduled to join from September 30.
Etihad Rail’s passenger fleet consists of 13 trains, with each train capable of carrying up to 400 passengers.
The trains can operate at speeds of up to 200 kmph.
The Etihad Rail Dubai service therefore marks the start of a new phase in UAE passenger rail connectivity, giving travellers direct rail links between Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Fujairah from September 30.
