Air India online duty-free shopping has been launched in partnership with Adani Airport Holdings, giving international travellers a way to browse, pre-order and pay for duty-free products online before collecting their purchases at designated airport counters.

The new digital shopping service is integrated into Air India’s website and mobile app.

It is initially available for passengers travelling through select airports operated by Adani Airports.

Air India Online Duty-Free Shopping Offers Up to 25% Savings

The platform is offering introductory discounts of up to 25% on standard retail shelf prices across selected duty-free products.

Travellers can also benefit from applicable bank offers and seasonal privileges, according to the companies.

The digital catalogue includes premium cosmetics and fragrances, chocolates and confectionery, consumer electronics and luxury beverages.

Customers can complete their purchase online and collect the packaged items from designated duty-free counters at the airport.

Maharaja Club Members Get Reward Points

Air India’s Maharaja Club members can earn three Maharaja Points for every Rs 100 spent on eligible duty-free purchases through the new platform.

The loyalty benefit is linked to qualifying transactions made through the service.

Air India’s terms state that customers need to provide their valid nine-digit Maharaja Club ID to receive the points.

The points are credited after the successful transaction and order delivery, subject to the applicable programme conditions.

Airports Where the Service Is Available

The service is initially available for passengers travelling to or from Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram.

Air India has said additional domestic and international gateways are planned in later phases.

The service also extends to eligible customers travelling on codeshare itineraries, including flights operated by Air India Express.

The aim is to bring duty-free shopping into the digital travel journey rather than limiting purchases to airport retail counters.

How the New Duty-Free Service Works

Travellers can browse the available products online, select their airport and arrange the purchase before their journey.

Air India’s service information says customers can pre-book duty-free products up to three hours before departure or arrival.

The partnership adds an online layer to airport duty-free shopping, allowing passengers to make their selections in advance and collect the orders at the airport.

The catalogue covers more than 14,000 duty-free products across categories including fragrances, cosmetics, confectionery, spirits, electronics and travel essentials.

The Air India online duty-free shopping service is expected to expand as more airports and travel gateways are brought into the platform, giving international passengers another digital option for airport shopping.
