Bengaluru special trains for Mumbai are set to provide additional travel options ahead of the festive rush, with new services also planned between Bengaluru and Visakhapatnam.
The additional trains are being introduced as long-distance rail demand is expected to rise during the upcoming festive season.
Passengers travelling from Bengaluru to western and eastern destinations will get more options beyond regular services.
Bengaluru Special Trains for Mumbai
Central Railway will operate 14 weekly AC special services between Mumbai and SMVT Bengaluru. Train number 01013 will run from Mumbai CSMT to SMVT Bengaluru every Saturday from October 10 to November 21.
The return service, train number 01014, will operate from SMVT Bengaluru to Mumbai every Sunday from October 11 to November 22.
The Mumbai-Bengaluru services will stop at several important stations along the route.
These include Pune, Satara, Karad, Sangli, Miraj, Belagavi, Dharwad, Hubballi, Davangere and Tumakuru.
The additional AC services are expected to provide another option for passengers planning festive-season journeys between Bengaluru and Mumbai, particularly when regular trains face higher demand.
Bengaluru-Visakhapatnam Special Train
A separate special train will connect SMVT Bengaluru with Visakhapatnam during the same period.
Train number 08583, the Visakhapatnam-SMVT Bengaluru Special, will operate from October 6 to November 25, with eight trips in each direction.
The train will leave Visakhapatnam at 12:45 pm on Tuesdays and reach SMVT Bengaluru at 3:50 pm the following day.
The return service, train number 08584, will leave SMVT Bengaluru at 3:50 pm on Wednesdays and reach Visakhapatnam at 4:35 pm the next day.
The service will connect several major stations across Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
Stops include Duvvada, Anakapalle, Samalkot Junction, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Guntur, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai and Krishnarajapuram.
This route gives passengers travelling between Bengaluru and the eastern coast another long-distance rail option during the festive period.

Festive periods generally bring higher demand for long-distance train travel as people travel between cities and their hometowns. Popular routes can see strong demand for confirmed berths, making additional services an important way to temporarily increase capacity.
