LPG E-KYC Refill Rules Affect Gas Customers
According to the latest reports, around 3.16 crore domestic LPG consumers had not completed biometric Aadhaar authentication.
The Oil Ministry has directed oil marketing companies to take action against customers who remain outside the biometric authentication system.
The government has been tightening LPG verification requirements to ensure that subsidy benefits and regulated-price refills reach eligible consumers.
The e-KYC process is also intended to improve identification of genuine LPG connections.
The September 14 deadline followed several extensions. Earlier deadlines were set for August 16, August 23, August 31 and September 7 before the latest extension was announced.
What Happens If LPG E-KYC Is Not Completed?
Customers who have not completed biometric Aadhaar authentication may no longer be able to book or receive LPG refills under the applicable regulated-price and subsidy system.
The latest guidelines indicate that the LPG connection can be reactivated after the customer completes the required e-KYC.
Once verification is completed, eligible customers can resume LPG services and receive applicable subsidy benefits.
The rule applies to domestic LPG customers using the major providers, including Indane Gas, Bharat Gas and HP Gas.
How To Complete LPG E-KYC Online
Indane Gas customers can complete the process through the IndianOil One application along with the Aadhaar FaceRD application.
After registering with the mobile number linked to the account, customers need to link their LPG ID and access the re-KYC option.
Bharat Gas customers can use the Hello BPCL application. After registration and OTP verification, the e-KYC option can be selected to begin the authentication process.
HP Gas customers can use the HP Pay application and access the LPG section under the account services.
After selecting e-KYC and providing consent, customers can complete face authentication through the Aadhaar FaceRD application.
What LPG Users Should Do Now
Customers who have missed the September 14 deadline should complete their biometric Aadhaar authentication as soon as possible to restore or maintain access to LPG refill services.
The e-KYC requirement is particularly important for households receiving LPG subsidy benefits, as the government has been seeking complete biometric authentication before allowing subsidy-linked benefits and regulated-price refills.
