Indian Railways Announces Sri Lanka Ramayana Yatra

Sri Lanka Ramayana Yatra starts at ₹65,250 per person for triple occupancy under a six-day IRCTC Tourism package announced for December 2026.

The five-night, six-day journey will take travellers from Bengaluru to Colombo and cover several religious and cultural sites associated with the Ramayana.

The tour is scheduled to begin on December 10, 2026, with the return flight from Colombo to Bengaluru on December 16.

The package includes flights, hotel accommodation, meals, local transfers and sightseeing.

The package costs ₹86,200 per person for single occupancy, ₹65,700 for double occupancy and ₹65,250 for triple occupancy.

For children aged 5 to 11 years, the price is ₹51,500 with a bed and ₹47,500 without a bed for children aged 2 to 11 years.

The outbound journey is scheduled on SriLankan Airlines flight UL-1174, which will depart Bengaluru at 9:55 am on December 10 and reach Colombo at 11:25 am.

The return flight UL-173 is scheduled to leave Colombo at 1:05 am on December 16 and arrive in Bengaluru at 2:30 am.

What the IRCTC Sri Lanka Package Includes

The package includes economy-class air tickets between Bengaluru and Colombo, five nights of hotel accommodation and breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Travellers will also receive transfers and sightseeing in air-conditioned vehicles on a seat-in-coach basis.

Entry tickets to the sightseeing locations, an English-speaking tour guide in Sri Lanka and overseas travel insurance for travellers aged between six months and 79 years are also included.

However, several expenses are excluded. These include airfare increases, airport taxes, fuel surcharges, onboard meals, additional sightseeing, personal expenses, tips, telephone charges, porterage, laundry, mineral water and alcoholic beverages.

Camera fees, boating charges and expenses resulting from changes or deviations from the planned itinerary are also not included in the package price.

 Sri Lanka Ramayana Yatra Itinerary

The first day includes the flight from Bengaluru to Colombo followed by travel to Dambulla. Travellers will visit Manavari Temple and Muneeshwaram Temple before staying overnight in Dambulla.

On the second day, the itinerary covers Dambulla Cave Temple, Thiru Koneshwaram Temple and Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Temple in Trincomalee. The group returns to Dambulla for the night.

The third day takes travellers to Kandy, where the itinerary includes a gem factory, a batik factory and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. An evening cultural show is also planned.

Ramayana Sites and Colombo Sightseeing

On the fourth day, travellers will travel from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, visiting Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, Seetha Amman Temple and Ashoka Vatika.

The fifth day includes a visit to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage before the group travels to Colombo.

Sightseeing in Colombo includes Kelaniya Buddhist Temple, Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple and a city tour.

On the final day, travellers will have free time for shopping before proceeding to Colombo airport for the return flight to Bengaluru.

The journey is scheduled to conclude after arrival in Bengaluru on December 16.
