September 1, 2026, brings several important changes that could affect your investments and household expenses.

From new Gold ETF trading rules to a government push for more PNG gas connections, these updates are worth knowing.

There may also be changes in bank FD interest rates, ATM charges, and LPG-related rules. Here’s a simple look at what is changing.

Gold ETF Trading Rules to Change

If you invest in Gold or Silver ETFs, new SEBI rules will come into effect from September 1.

Under the new system, the price limit for ETFs will be based on the average trading price during the last 30 minutes of the previous trading day.

The aim is to keep ETF prices closer to actual market conditions and make trading more accurate.

Government Launches New PNG Connection Scheme

The central government is introducing a new incentive scheme to increase domestic PNG (Piped Natural Gas) connections from September 1.

The scheme aims to expand the PNG network in new areas and activate existing but unused connections. According to the government, India currently has around 17.4 million domestic PNG connections.

Bank FD Interest Rates May Change

People planning to open a fixed deposit should check the latest interest rates before investing.

Banks may revise FD rates in September. If rates are reduced, new FDs could earn lower returns. If rates go up, investors may get better interest on fresh deposits.

ATM Charges Could Be Revised

Banks may also update ATM transaction charges in September.

Customers who frequently withdraw cash beyond the free transaction limit should check the latest fee structure of their bank to avoid extra charges.

LPG e-KYC Deadline Ends

The extended deadline to complete LPG e-KYC is August 31. From September 1, customers who have not completed the process may face issues getting LPG cylinders at the domestic subsidised rate.

Indian Oil, HPCL, and BPCL have already asked customers to complete Aadhaar-based biometric verification. If you have not finished the process yet, it is best to do it before the deadline to avoid any disruption in LPG supply.
