Why Are Gold Prices Falling Today?
Gold prices have moved lower after the precious metal recently touched a three-month high.
One reason behind the decline is profit booking by traders. A slightly stronger US dollar has also put pressure on gold.
When the dollar strengthens, gold becomes more expensive for investors holding other currencies. This can reduce demand for the precious metal.
Investors are now closely watching upcoming US economic data, particularly the Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) data, for clues about the US Federal Reserve’s future interest-rate decisions.
Despite today’s decline, gold remains strong on a monthly basis.
The yellow metal has gained more than 14% so far this month, supported by investment and import demand from China and other factors.
What Is the Outlook for Gold?
Analysts continue to see a positive bias for gold in the near term, although a temporary correction cannot be ruled out.
Jigar Trivedi, Senior Research Analyst at IndusInd Securities, said MCX gold is expected to retain its positive trend, with ₹1,62,600 per 10 grams as support and ₹1,63,600 as resistance.
For retail investors, it is important to track both domestic and international gold prices before making a buying decision.
