700 affordable 2BHK Flats Coming to Prayagraj

Buying a home in Prayagraj could soon become easier for many families.

The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) is launching a new affordable housing project under the Kasari-Masari Housing Scheme.

Around 700 2BHK flats will be built, with each flat priced at ₹25 lakh.

The project is being developed on land that was previously under illegal occupation near the former residence of mafia don Atiq Ahmed. The land has now been cleared and will be used for public housing.

Registration to Begin in December

According to a Dainik Jagran report, the foundation stone for the project is expected to be laid in October, before Diwali. Flat bookings are likely to begin in December.

To register for a flat, buyers will need to pay 10% of the total cost, which comes to ₹2.5 lakh. The remaining amount can be paid later as per the payment schedule set by the authority.

RERA Approval Process Underway

The Prayagraj Development Authority has already applied for approval from the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA).

The online application has been submitted, and construction will begin after the required approvals are received.

The housing project will be built on nearly 9,000 square meters of land, which was earlier under illegal occupation before being taken over by the authority.

Project to Be Completed in Three Years

The PDA plans to complete the entire housing project within three years. Flats will be allotted through a lottery system to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.

Officials say the scheme is mainly aimed at helping Low Income Group (LIG) families own a home at an affordable price. The registration process is expected to open in the coming months, allowing eligible buyers to apply.

The new housing project will also ensure that land recovered from illegal occupation is put to public use.

Along with this scheme, the Prayagraj Development Authority regularly launches housing and plot schemes for different income groups, including EWS, LIG, MIG, and HIG families.
