Air travelers flying from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) have a new reason to celebrate.
Air India passengers can now check in their luggage before reaching the airport, making their journey much more convenient.
The new baggage check-in service has started at two Delhi Metro stations, allowing passengers to drop off their bags and travel to the airport without carrying heavy luggage.

Shivaji Stadium Metro Station
Passengers flying with Air India can complete their baggage check-in at either of these stations before boarding the Airport Express Metro to the airport.
This means travelers no longer need to carry large suitcases through the metro or wait in long baggage check-in queues after reaching the airport.
Available for Domestic and International Flights
According to Air India, the service is available for both domestic and international passengers.
The baggage check-in counters will operate every day from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, giving travelers enough time to complete the process before their flight.
A Big Relief for Train Passengers
The new “City to Sky” service is expected to be especially useful for people arriving in Delhi by train.
Many passengers reach New Delhi Railway Station hours before their flight departs from IGIA.
Until now, they had to spend that waiting time carrying their luggage everywhere.
With the new facility, they can check in their bags at the nearby New Delhi Metro Station and enjoy their free time without worrying about heavy baggage.

After dropping off their luggage at the metro station, passengers can explore the city, attend meetings, or relax before taking the Airport Express Metro to the airport.
