If you use the New Aadhaar App, here’s an important update you shouldn’t ignore.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has informed users that several Aadhaar services on the app will be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled system maintenance.

The maintenance will begin at 7:00 PM on July 25, 2026, and continue until 9:00 AM on July 26, 2026.

During this period, many essential Aadhaar-related services will not work, so users are advised to complete any urgent tasks before the maintenance starts.

When Will the Aadhaar App Be Unavailable?

According to the notification sent by UIDAI, the New Aadhaar App will undergo scheduled maintenance from:

Start: 7:00 PM, July 25, 2026

End: 9:00 AM, July 26, 2026

During these 14 hours, users will not be able to access several digital Aadhaar services through the app.

Which Aadhaar Services Will Be Affected?

Many popular features of the New Aadhaar App will be temporarily unavailable during the maintenance window.

These include:

Downloading Digital Aadhaar and e-Aadhaar

QR code-based Aadhaar verification

Face Authentication for identity verification

Locking or unlocking fingerprint, iris, and face biometrics

Paperless KYC and consent-based data sharing

Updating mobile number, address, and email ID

Managing multiple Aadhaar profiles on one device

If you were planning to use any of these services, it’s best to complete them before the maintenance begins.

Complete These Important Tasks Before 7 PM

To avoid inconvenience, UIDAI advises users to finish any urgent Aadhaar-related work before 7 PM on July 25.

You should complete these tasks in advance if needed:

Download and save your e-Aadhaar.

Complete Face Authentication for identity verification.

Use QR code verification at hotels, airports, offices, or other locations.

Lock or unlock your Aadhaar biometrics.

Update your mobile number, address, or email ID.

Finish Aadhaar-based KYC for opening a bank account, getting a new SIM card, or other verification purposes.

Planning ahead can help you avoid delays during the maintenance period.

About the New Aadhaar App

The New Aadhaar App was launched by the government on January 28, 2026, replacing the older mAadhaar App.

It allows users to carry a digital version of their Aadhaar card and offers features such as secure identity verification, QR code authentication, Face Authentication, paperless KYC, and consent-based data sharing.

According to UIDAI, the app has already been downloaded by more than 40 million users and is available for both Android and iOS devices.

Email Updates Are Free Until December 31

One of the latest features added to the app is the ability to update your email ID.

Although the normal update fee is Rs 75, UIDAI has waived this charge for updates made through the New Aadhaar App until December 31, 2026.

However, this service will also remain unavailable during the maintenance period.

Don’t Panic—Services Will Resume Normally

UIDAI has clarified that this is a temporary system maintenance exercise.

Once the maintenance is completed at 9:00 AM on July 26, all Aadhaar app services will start working normally again.

If you have any Aadhaar-related work planned for the evening of July 25 or the morning of July 26, make sure to complete it before 7 PM to avoid any inconvenience.
