EPFO Members: Check your PF Interest and File a Complaint if Needed

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has started crediting the annual interest amount to EPF subscribers’ accounts.

Many members have already received SMS notifications confirming the deposit, while others may only see the update in their EPF passbook.

If you haven’t received a message yet, there’s no need to panic.

The first step is to check your EPF passbook.

If the interest is still missing after verification, you can file a complaint with EPFO.

How to Check if EPF Interest Has Been Credited

EPFO allows members to check their PF balance and interest credit through multiple methods.

Check Through the EPFO Portal or UMANG App

The easiest way is to log in to the EPFO Member Passbook portal using your UAN credentials.

Once logged in, you can view your passbook and check whether the interest amount has been credited.

You can also access the same information through the UMANG app.

Check by Missed Call

Members registered with their Universal Account Number (UAN) can give a missed call to 011-22901406 from their registered mobile number.

This service is free.

However, your Aadhaar, PAN, and bank account should be linked to your UAN for the service to work properly.

 Check Through SMS

You can also check your PF balance by sending an SMS to 7738299899.

Type the message in this format:

EPFOHO UAN ENG

Replace ENG with the first three letters of your preferred language if required. For example, use MAR for Marathi.

After sending the SMS, you will receive details of your EPF account on your registered mobile number.

What to Do If the Interest Is Not Credited

If you have checked your passbook and still do not see the interest entry, you can raise a complaint with EPFO.

Before filing a grievance, make sure you have verified your passbook through the portal or UMANG app, as SMS notifications may sometimes be delayed.

How to File an EPFO Complaint

There are two ways to register your complaint.

Contact the EPFO Helpline

You can call the EPFO customer support numbers:

14470

1800-118-005

The support team can help you with issues related to your EPF account and interest credit.

Register a Complaint Online

You can also submit a grievance through the EPFO’s online complaint portal.

Follow these steps:

Visit the official EPFO grievance portal.

Click on “Register Grievance.”

Select the “Other” option if applicable.

Fill in the required details in the complaint form.

Submit the form to register your grievance.

EPFO will review your complaint and respond through the grievance system.

Final Take

EPFO has begun crediting interest to EPF accounts, and many members have already received the amount.

If you haven’t received an SMS, don’t assume the interest is missing—first check your EPF passbook through the EPFO portal, UMANG app, SMS, or missed call service.

If the interest still hasn’t been credited, you can easily register a complaint through the EPFO helpline or the online grievance portal.
