Getting an LPG cylinder may soon become as easy as ordering groceries. Swiggy Instamart has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to start on-demand LPG cylinder delivery.

The service is currently being tested in Bengaluru and could expand to more cities if the pilot is successful.

This is the first time an LPG cylinder delivery service is being offered through a quick commerce platform in India.

Which LPG Cylinders Can You Order?

In the first phase, customers can order 5 kg and 10 kg LPG cylinders through the Swiggy Instamart app. The regular 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder is not included in this service for now.

These smaller cylinders are easy to carry and are suitable for rented homes, students, bachelors, small families, food stalls, and outdoor cooking.

No HP Gas Connection Needed

One of the biggest benefits is that you do not need an existing HP Gas connection to use this service.

Even first-time buyers can order a small LPG cylinder through Swiggy Instamart. This makes it a convenient option for people who have recently moved to a new city or do not want a regular domestic gas connection.

How to Order an LPG Cylinder

Ordering a cylinder is similar to ordering groceries on the app:

Open the Swiggy app.

Go to the Instamart section.

Select the LPG Cylinder category.

Choose a 5 kg or 10 kg cylinder.

Confirm your address and payment.

The cylinder will be delivered through HPCL’s official delivery network.

Who Will Benefit the Most?

This service is expected to be especially useful for:

Students and bachelors

People living in rented homes

Small families

Small cafés and food stall owners

Camping and outdoor cooking enthusiasts

Anyone needing an LPG cylinder in an emergency

Price and Expansion Details Still Awaited

HPCL and Swiggy have not yet announced the final price of the cylinders, delivery charges, expected delivery time, or when the service will be launched in other cities.

If the Bengaluru pilot receives a positive response, the companies are expected to expand the service to more locations across India.
