The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has launched a new online tool called NPS PRIDE-Disha (Pension Fund Returns for Informed Decisions and Empowerment) to help National Pension System (NPS) subscribers make better investment decisions.

The tool allows users to compare the historical performance of different pension funds and investment options.

It also helps subscribers understand how their monthly investments could have grown over time.

What Is New in the PRIDE-Disha Tool?

Earlier, NPS subscribers could only compare lump-sum returns for fixed periods such as 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, or 10 years.

With the new PRIDE-Disha tool, subscribers can now:

Calculate returns on monthly SIP-style investments using XIRR

Compare the historical performance of different pension funds

View Net Asset Value (NAV) data for up to 5,000 days

Understand how regular monthly investments would have performed over time

This gives investors a much clearer picture of the long-term performance of different pension funds before making investment decisions.

How Will It Help NPS Subscribers?

The biggest advantage of the new tool is that it helps subscribers calculate the actual returns (XIRR) on regular monthly investments instead of only showing lump-sum returns.

This makes it easier for investors to compare pension funds based on real investment patterns and choose the option that best suits their retirement goals.

However, the tool is meant only for analysis of past performance and should not be considered a guarantee of future returns.

PFRDA Clarifies: No Future Return Predictions

In a circular issued on July 14, the PFRDA clarified that the PRIDE-Disha tool is based entirely on historical data.

It does not predict future returns or provide investment projections.

Instead, it is designed to help subscribers make informed decisions by studying the past performance of pension funds.

How to Access the Tool

NPS subscribers can use the PRIDE-Disha calculator by visiting the PFRDA’s official website.

The tool allows users to compare different pension funds, analyze historical returns, and identify funds that have performed well over the long term, helping them make more informed retirement planning decisions.
