If you claimed Airtel’s free Perplexity Pro AI subscription last year, it’s time to check your account.
The telecom company has started notifying users that the one-year free subscription is about to expire.
If you want to continue using Perplexity Pro, you’ll need to pay for the subscription after the free period ends.
However, if you don’t wish to continue, you should cancel the subscription before the renewal date to avoid being charged.
Why Are Airtel Users Receiving This Alert?
Last year, Airtel partnered with Perplexity AI to offer a free one-year Perplexity Pro subscription, worth up to ₹17,000, to eligible prepaid, postpaid, and Wi-Fi customers.
Now that the free subscription period is ending, Airtel has started sending reminders to users.
The message advises customers to cancel the auto-renewal before the renewal date if they do not want the paid subscription to begin.
How to Cancel Your Perplexity Pro Subscription
If you have added a payment method to your Perplexity account, follow these steps to cancel the subscription:
Open the Perplexity app.
Go to your Profile section.
Tap All Settings.
Find the section that says “Thank you for subscribing to Perplexity Pro.”
Tap Manage next to the subscription.
Select Manage again on the next screen.
Choose Cancel Subscription.
Select Other as the reason (or any preferred reason) and continue.
Confirm by tapping Continue.
Finally, select No Thanks, Cancel My Subscription.
Review the billing period and tap Cancel Subscription once more to complete the process.
Who Doesn’t Need to Cancel?
If you never added your payment details, such as a debit or credit card, while activating the Airtel offer, you generally do not need to take any action.
However, if you did add a payment method, it’s important to visit your Perplexity Pro account and cancel the subscription before the renewal date.
Otherwise, the subscription may automatically switch to a paid plan, and the applicable charges could be deducted.
Checking your account now can help you avoid unexpected renewal fees once the free Airtel offer comes to an end.
