Passengers planning to travel during the Onam festival have good news.
To manage the expected rush, Southern Railway has announced special weekly trains between Chennai and Kollam.
These special services will run during August and September 2026, giving passengers an additional travel option during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
The railway will operate four special trips in each direction, helping thousands of people travel comfortably to their hometowns or holiday destinations for Onam celebrations.
Chennai–Kollam Special Train Schedule
The Chennai–Kollam Weekly Express Special (Train No. 06119) will run on the following dates:

The train will leave MGR Chennai Central at 3:10 PM and reach Kollam Junction at 7:20 AM the next day.
Kollam–Chennai Return Schedule
The Kollam–Chennai Weekly Express Special (Train No. 06120) will operate on:

The train will depart from Kollam Junction at 10:40 AM and arrive at MGR Chennai Central at 3:30 AM the following day.
