There is important news for NEET UG 2026 candidates waiting for their examination fee refund.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has once again extended the deadline to confirm or update bank account details.

Students now have until July 14, 2026, to verify or correct their banking information to receive their refund.

The previous deadline was July 7.

Why Has NTA Extended the Deadline?

The extension comes after many students either missed the earlier correction window or entered incorrect bank account details while preparing for the re-examination.

Some candidates also wanted to change their earlier “No Refund” selection.

To help such students, the NTA has given one final opportunity to update their information.

The refund process is linked to the cancellation of the original NEET UG 2026 exam held on May 3, 2026, which was scrapped following allegations of a question paper leak.

Later, the NTA conducted the Re-NEET exam on June 21, 2026, for nearly 20 lakh candidates.

No fresh registration or additional fee was required, as the original application details were carried forward.

How to Update Bank Account Details

Eligible candidates can visit the official NEET portal and log in using their application number and password.

After completing the OTP-based verification, they can access the “Bank Account Details Confirmation/Updation” section.

Candidates can confirm or update the following information:

Beneficiary name

Bank account number

Bank name

IFSC code

The NTA also recommends uploading a scanned cancelled cheque or the first page of the bank passbook to avoid errors, although this is optional.

Important Instructions for Candidates

The NTA has clearly stated that no further corrections will be allowed after July 14.

Therefore, candidates should carefully check all details before submitting them.

The bank account should be active and can be in the candidate’s name, a parent’s name, or a joint account with a parent.

The agency has also advised students not to share their application number, password, or OTP with anyone.

NTA officials will never ask candidates for these details over phone calls or messages.

When Will the Refund Be Credited?

The NTA has started processing refunds for candidates whose bank details have already been verified.

However, the agency has not announced an official date for when the refund amount will be credited.

Payments are being released in phases.

If candidates face any technical problems while updating their details, they should contact the official NTA helpdesk or use the official email support instead of relying on unofficial sources.
