Reliance Jio has introduced a new artificial intelligence feature called Jio Call Agent, an AI-powered voice assistant built directly into its 5G network.
Announced at Reliance Industries’ 49th Annual General Meeting, this tool is designed to change the way users experience phone calls by bringing AI assistance directly into live conversations.
Unlike traditional chatbots or mobile apps, Jio Call Agent works inside phone calls in real time.
It can help users with tasks, generate summaries, and even manage information during conversations.
No App Needed, Free for Millions of Users
One of the biggest highlights of Jio Call Agent is that users will not need to download any app.
he feature is integrated directly into Jio’s 5G network, making it automatically accessible to users.
Jio also plans to offer this service free of cost to its 5G customers.
This means more than 50 crore users could soon use advanced AI features without paying extra.
The assistant is also designed to support multiple Indian languages, making it more accessible across the country.
How Jio Call Agent Works During Calls
Users can activate the AI assistant during a call using a simple voice command like “Hey Jio”.
Once enabled and permitted, the AI can join the conversation and assist in real time.
One of its most useful features is live call transcription, which converts speech into text instantly.
It can even identify up to 10 speakers, making it helpful for meetings and group discussions.
The AI also goes beyond transcription.
It can generate summaries, action points, reminders, and meeting notes, helping users save time and stay organized.

Jio Call Agent is not limited to information support. With user permission, it can also perform real-world actions such as:
