A report has surfaced that may disappoint millions of Samsung smartphone users. Several popular Galaxy devices are reportedly not expected to receive the upcoming One UI 8.5 update.

The list includes not only budget and mid-range phones but also premium devices such as the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

If these reports turn out to be true, users of these devices could miss out on Samsung’s latest AI-powered tools, improved customization options, and several other new features.

However, Samsung has not officially confirmed whether these smartphones will be excluded from the update.

What Does One UI 8.5 Bring?

One UI 8.5 is Samsung’s latest software update and is expected to introduce several new features and improvements.

Some of the key additions include a redesigned Quick Panel, more lock screen customization options, an upgraded Bixby assistant, enhanced wireless sharing features, and new AI-based tools.

The update is also expected to bring the Audio Eraser feature, which can help remove unwanted background noise from videos.

Samsung has already started rolling out One UI 8.5 to some Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S25 devices, with more smartphones expected to receive it gradually.

These Samsung Devices May Not Get One UI 8.5

According to reports, the following devices may miss the One UI 8.5 update:

Galaxy S22

Galaxy S22 Plus

Galaxy S22 Ultra

Galaxy S21 FE

Galaxy A73

Galaxy A53

Galaxy A33

Galaxy Z Fold 4

Galaxy Z Flip 4

Galaxy Tab S8

Galaxy Tab S8 Plus

Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra

Most of these devices were launched in 2022, making it less likely that they will receive Samsung’s latest software upgrade.

Features Users Could Miss

If One UI 8.5 does not arrive on these devices, users may lose access to several new features.

The update is expected to offer advanced AI tools, a smarter version of Bixby, improved Quick Share support, and the new Audio Eraser feature.

The upgraded Quick Share feature could make file transfers between Samsung phones, Apple devices, and other platforms easier and more seamless.

Users may also miss out on enhanced lock screen and home screen customization, a redesigned Quick Panel, and useful tools such as a time-zone converter.

While the reports have generated concern among Samsung users, it is important to remember that the company has not yet made an official announcement. Users may have to wait for Samsung’s final update roadmap to know for sure whether their devices will receive One UI 8.5
