The weather across India is set to change sharply again. Several states have been put on alert for rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and even snowfall in hilly regions.
At the same time, some parts of the country are also expected to face intense heatwave conditions.
Delhi-NCR and North India Weather Update
Delhi and nearby NCR regions are under a yellow alert for May 12. Light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected.
Wind speeds may reach 40–50 kmph in areas like Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad. Weather conditions are expected to improve from May 13, with partly cloudy skies and clearer weather by May 14.
In Uttar Pradesh, the next three days may remain mostly cloudy. Eastern parts of the state could see light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds up to 50 kmph. Temperatures are also expected to rise gradually.
Bihar is also on alert, especially in 19 districts of North Bihar. Strong winds reaching up to 50–60 kmph are expected. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert and advised people to stay cautious.
Storms, Heatwave, and Rain Conditions in Central and Western India
Madhya Pradesh is likely to witness thunderstorms and strong winds between 40–50 kmph in several districts including Jabalpur, Betul, Khandwa, Seoni, and others. Lightning activity is also expected in many areas.
In Rajasthan, weather conditions are mixed. While some areas may see light rain and strong winds, a heatwave warning has been issued for parts of Jodhpur and Bikaner.
Temperatures are expected to rise further in the coming days, with hot nights also likely.
Hilly States and Northeast Weather Alert
Uttarakhand may receive light to moderate rain in many hilly areas. Snowfall is also possible in regions above 4500 meters. Plains may see occasional light rain as well.
In the Northeast, states like Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh are expected to experience rain with thunderstorms and winds up to 40 kmph. The activity is likely to continue for the next few days.
Jharkhand is also under alert due to active weather systems passing through the region. Thunderstorms, rain, lightning, and strong winds above 50 kmph are expected over the next four days.
