Thailand launches Special 5-Year Visa for Indians

Thailand has introduced a new long-term visa called the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), and it could be great news for Indians who want to live and work remotely from another country.

The visa is specially designed for people following the “work from anywhere” lifestyle.

It gives travelers the chance to stay in Thailand for longer periods while continuing their jobs or freelance work online.

What is the Destination Thailand Visa?

The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is a 5-year multiple-entry visa introduced by the Thai government.

Under this visa, travelers can stay in Thailand for up to 180 days in one visit.

If needed, they can extend their stay for another 180 days.

This means eligible visitors may be able to stay in Thailand for almost a full year continuously.

Thailand has created this visa mainly for:

Entrepreneurs running overseas businesses

Students joining long-term courses

The visa is also open to people taking part in:

Muay Thai training

Financial Requirement You Must Meet

To apply for the DTV visa, applicants need to show proof of funds worth 500,000 Thai Baht, which is around ₹14–15 lakh.
