Many employees are receiving a message from the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation asking them to complete Aadhaar Face Authentication (FAT).

The message clearly states that this step is mandatory if you want to receive benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana.

To complete the process, employees need to use the UMANG app.

What Is PMVBRY and Who Gets the Benefit?

PMVBRY is a government scheme designed to support first-time employees and encourage job creation in the formal sector.

If you are joining an EPFO-registered company for the first time, you could be eligible for a benefit of up to Rs 15,000.

This amount is given as a one-month wage subsidy, making it a useful financial boost at the start of your career.

How the Rs 15,000 Benefit Is Paid

The total benefit is not paid at once. It is divided into two parts.

The first instalment is credited after you complete six months in your job.

The second instalment is given after 12 months and is transferred to a savings scheme.

To qualify, your monthly salary should be up to Rs 1,00,000.

Also, the job must have been created between August 1, 2025, and July 31, 2027.

More Than Just Cash: Extra Benefits for Employees

Apart from the cash benefit, employees also get social security coverage through EPFO.

The scheme also includes financial literacy programmes and on-the-job training.

These features are designed to improve skills and increase long-term employability.

Incentives for Employers to Hire More

The scheme is not just for employees. Employers also get benefits for creating new jobs.

Companies can receive a wage subsidy of up to Rs 3,000 per month for each new employee.

This support lasts for two years in most sectors and up to four years in manufacturing.

The goal is simple: encourage businesses to hire more people and grow their workforce.

Aadhaar Face Authentication Is Mandatory

To receive any of these benefits, Aadhaar Face Authentication is now compulsory.

This is a contactless process where your live face scan is matched with your Aadhaar photo for verification.

Without completing this step, you may not be able to access PMVBRY benefits.

Step-by-Step: How to Complete Face Authentication

Start by downloading the UMANG app and the AadhaarFaceRD app from the Play Store.

Log in to UMANG and go to EPFO services. Select either “UAN Allotment and Activation” or “Face Authentication of Already Activated UANs”.

Enter your Aadhaar number and linked mobile number.

You will receive an OTP for verification.

After entering the OTP, choose face authentication and allow consent.

The app will then scan your face and match it with Aadhaar records.

Once successful, your UAN will be updated, and you will receive a confirmation message.

Common Issues and Simple Fixes

If the authentication fails, don’t worry. Make sure your apps are updated and your face is clearly visible during the scan.

Good lighting is important. Also, double-check your details before retrying.

This new system is designed to make verification faster and ensure that eligible employees can receive their benefits without delays.
