Weather across India is showing a sharp contrast.

Many states are facing intense heat, with temperatures crossing 40°C even in April.

At the same time, parts of Northeast and Eastern India are witnessing heavy rainfall.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this mixed weather pattern is likely to continue over the next few days.

Heavy Rain Alert in Northeast States

Several northeastern states are expected to receive heavy rain between April 21 and 25.

These include Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

Thunderstorms and strong winds are also likely, especially in Assam and Meghalaya, where wind speeds may reach 50–70 km/h.

Meanwhile, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh could see light to moderate rainfall around April 25–26.

Heatwave Warning in North India

While the Northeast deals with rain, North India is battling extreme heat.

The IMD has issued a heatwave alert for states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab for the next few days.

Temperatures in many regions are hovering between 40°C and 45°C. Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh recorded one of the highest temperatures at 44°C.

The heatwave is expected to gradually spread towards eastern and central parts of India.

Delhi Weather: No Relief Yet

Delhi continues to face intense heat.

Daytime temperatures have already crossed 40°C and may reach 42–44°C in the coming days.

The weather is expected to remain clear till April 24, with heatwave conditions persisting in several areas.

Uttar Pradesh Braces for Rising Temperatures

In Uttar Pradesh, the heatwave is expected to worsen over the next two to three days.

Cities like Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, and Lucknow are already seeing temperatures above 40°C.

Some places, including Kanpur and Lucknow, have crossed 42°C, and the heat is likely to increase further.

Bihar: Heat Now, Rain Later

Bihar is also experiencing intense heat this week.

However, there may be some relief as light to moderate rain is expected in parts of the state on April 24 and 25.

Patna is likely to remain sunny for now, with possible cloud cover later in the week.

In Himachal Pradesh, the weather will stay normal for a few days.

However, rain and even snowfall are possible on April 25 and 26, along with strong winds.

Final Take

While the North and central regions face rising heat, the Northeast is dealing with heavy rain and storms.

For now, there is little immediate relief from the heatwave, making it important to stay prepared and cautious in the coming days.
