Rain and storms are once again likely to increase concerns across North and East India. According to the Meteorological Department, a warning for heavy rain
and thunderstorms has been issued for nine states, including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi, starting from April 4. People have been advised to remain extremely alert during this period.
At the same time, a new western disturbance is expected to affect North India by April 7, 2026, which may further increase rainfall activity.
In Eastern India, thunderstorms and lightning may also damage crops, and farmers have been advised to stay cautious. On April 4, humid heat conditions are expected to worsen in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal.

Delhi (April 4–5)
A rain alert has been issued for Delhi from April 4, along with strong winds. Hailstorms are also possible during this period. Due to heavy rain, temperatures may fall by up to 2 degrees Celsius.
Uttar Pradesh (April 4–6)
A heavy rain alert has been issued for Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Bulandshahr, Firozabad, Mahoba, Jhansi, Jalaun, Mahamayanagar, Hamirpur, Hardoi, Kanpur, and Lucknow.
Bihar (April 5–8)
Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in Patna, West Champaran, East Champaran, Bhojpur, Gaya, Rohtas, Kaimur, and Aurangabad. There is also a warning for lightning and thunderstorms.
Uttarakhand (April 4–7)
Heavy rain warnings have been issued for Nainital, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Almora, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, and Tehri Garhwal. Wind speeds may reach 50 kmph.
Haryana (April 4–5)
Rain and strong winds are expected in Yamuna Nagar, Ambala, Karnal, Sonipat, Gurugram, Mewat, Rewari, Mahendragarh, and Charkhi Dadri, with wind speeds up to 60 kmph.
Punjab (April 4–6)
Rain and thunderstorm warnings are in place for Chandigarh, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Amritsar. Lightning is also possible.
Himachal Pradesh (April 4–5)
A yellow alert for rain has been issued for Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, Kangra, Kinnaur, Chamba, and Sirmaur. Some districts may also witness hailstorms.
Rajasthan (April 4–5)
Moderate to heavy rain is expected in Jaipur, Udaipur, Alwar, Chittorgarh, Tonk, Bundi, Bhilwara, and Pratapgarh. Thunderstorms with winds of 30–50 kmph are also possible.
Madhya Pradesh (April 4–5)
A heavy rain alert has been issued for Bhopal, Satna, Katni, Damoh, Panna, Chhatarpur, Morena, Niwari, and Betul. Winds may blow at 20–30 kmph.
Weather Update for Eastern India
In Bihar, rain and hailstorm warnings have been issued from April 5 to 8, with winds reaching 60 kmph.
In Jharkhand, heavy rain and strong winds are likely from April 4 to 7, with wind speeds up to 40 kmph.
A severe thunderstorm alert has been issued for Odisha for the next five days, along with lightning and strong winds reaching 70 kmph.
West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to receive heavy rain and thunderstorms from April 5 to 8, with strong gusty winds.

Central India Weather Alert
In western and eastern Madhya Pradesh, heavy rain is expected from April 4 to 7.
There is also a warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds in Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh over the next five days.
The Meteorological Department has also warned of possible hailstorms in eastern Madhya Pradesh on April 4 and in some areas of Chhattisgarh on April 4.
Western India Forecast
Light to moderate rain is likely at isolated places in Central Maharashtra and Marathwada on April 4, and in Gujarat on April 5.
During this time, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds of 40–50 kmph may also occur.
There is also a possibility of hailstorms in some areas of Central Maharashtra and Marathwada on April 4.
