Social media platform Meta Platforms is preparing to introduce a major change to its popular app Instagram.

The company is reportedly working on a new premium subscription model called Instagram Plus, which could significantly improve the user experience.

This new paid plan is expected to offer several features that are not currently available to free users.

Trial Started in Select Countries

According to media reports, Instagram Plus is currently being tested in a few countries, including Mexico, Japan, and the Philippines.

At the moment, the feature is available only to a limited number of users in these regions. However, it may be rolled out to more countries in the future.

Special Features in Instagram Plus

One of the most talked-about features of this paid service is anonymous story viewing.

This means that users subscribed to Instagram Plus will be able to watch someone’s story without showing their identity. Normally, the person who uploads a story can see who has viewed it, but with this feature, your name will remain hidden.

Another key feature is that users will be able to see how many times their stories have been re-viewed, something that is not currently available for regular users.

In addition, Instagram Plus users may get the option to create multiple audience lists for stories, instead of the current limit of only one Close Friends list.

The subscription may also allow users to extend story duration beyond 24 hours and highlight one story every week to increase its visibility.

More New Features Included

Along with story-related features, the subscription is also expected to offer animated reactions such as Superlikes.

Users may also get a search option inside the Story viewer list, making it easier to quickly find a specific person who viewed the story.

Different from Meta Verified

It is important to note that Instagram Plus is different from Meta Verified.

Meta Platforms’s Verified plan is mainly designed for creators and business users, offering features such as the blue tick badge and additional security benefits.

On the other hand, Instagram Plus is aimed at general users and focuses more on improving everyday app usage.

Expected Price

The company has not officially announced the pricing yet.

However, according to reports from the countries where it is currently being tested, the subscription may cost between ₹100 and ₹200 per month.

As of now, it is still unclear what the final price will be if the plan is launched in India.
