If you have a disability but also have a strong dream of starting your own business, this scheme could be a big opportunity.
The government led by Nitish Kumar in Bihar has launched a special program to help disabled individuals become entrepreneurs.
Under this scheme, eligible applicants can receive financial assistance of up to Rs 10 lakh to start a business.
The best part is that half of this amount does not need to be repaid.
Out of the Rs 10 lakh support, Rs 5 lakh will be given as a grant, while the remaining amount will be provided as a loan.
The scheme is part of the government’s development initiative called Saat Nischay‑3.
Interested applicants must apply before March 15 to take advantage of the opportunity.
Aim of the Chief Minister Divyangjan Scheme
The main goal of this scheme is to promote self-employment among people with disabilities and help them become financially independent.
The government aims to create around one crore employment opportunities in the state.
As part of this plan, special focus is being given to support disabled individuals who want to start their own businesses.
By providing financial help and training, the government wants to encourage more people to become self-reliant entrepreneurs.
How Many People Will Benefit?
According to guidelines from the state government, the maximum project cost supported under this scheme is Rs 10 lakh per unit.
For the financial year 2025–26, the Industry Department has announced that around 100 disabled individuals will be selected for the program.
Selected applicants will also receive vocational training before the loan amount is provided so they can run their businesses successfully.
How to Apply for the Scheme
Eligible and interested candidates can apply online through the official website of the state’s Industry Department.
To apply, visit the official portal and go to the login section.
There you need to select the option for Mukhyamantri Divyangjan Udyami Yojana (MMUY).
After that, you must register using your Aadhaar number and fill out the application form with the required details.
Documents Required for Application
Applicants must submit some important documents while applying for the scheme.
These include a birth certificate, Bihar Aadhaar card, proof of residence in the state, educational qualification certificates, and a valid disability certificate.
These documents will be used to verify eligibility before approval of the benefits.
