Big change for train passengers.
Indian Railways is set to discontinue its popular UTS app and replace it with a brand-new super app called RailOne.
If you regularly book unreserved tickets or platform passes, here’s what you need to know.
UTS App to Be Discontinued From March 1
The Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) app is currently used for:
Booking unreserved tickets
Buying platform passes
Purchasing season tickets
But from March 1, the Railways will stop this service.
Passengers will no longer be able to book tickets through the UTS app.
Instead, they will need to switch to RailOne for all types of bookings.
The good news? RailOne has already been launched and is ready to use.
No Need to Create a New Account
Worried about creating another login?
There’s no need.
Passengers can log in to RailOne using their existing UTS or IRCTC credentials.
The app is available for free on both Android and iOS devices.
Railways says the new platform has a much simpler interface, making it easier for occasional travellers and daily commuters alike.
Get 3% Discount on Tickets
To encourage passengers to shift to RailOne, Indian Railways is offering a 3% discount on unreserved tickets booked through the app.
This offer is valid from January 14 to July 14 and applies only to digital payments.
Passengers can pay using:
UPI
Debit cards
Credit cards
Net banking
Digital wallets
The aim is to promote cashless travel while making ticket booking more convenient.
With RailOne, Indian Railways is moving toward a more unified and user-friendly digital system.
If you travel by train, it’s time to make the switch.
