If you plan to book a train ticket, check your reservation, or cancel a ticket today, there’s an important update you should know.
Railway ticket booking services will remain unavailable for a few hours as the Delhi PRS (Passenger Reservation System) is going offline for scheduled work.
During this time, all booking-related services will be completely paused.
When Will the PRS System Be Closed?
The Passenger Reservation System in Delhi will not function from 11:45 pm on November 22, 2025, to 4:45 am on November 23, 2025.
This five-hour shutdown means you won’t be able to:
Book tickets
Cancel tickets
Check reservation status
Use inquiry services
Since this outage is during late-night hours, most passengers are expected to face minimal inconvenience.
Why Is the System Shutting Down?
The temporary closure is happening because Railways is replacing old core switches with new ones.
This upgrade is important for improving the speed, reliability, and security of the PRS system.
During the maintenance window, several services will remain unavailable, including:
Ticket booking and cancellation
Current reservations
Chart preparation
Online ticket bookings
The PRS system plays a major role in managing both reserved and unreserved ticket data, ensuring smooth and secure travel planning for passengers.
