Maharashtra extends e-KYC Deadline for Ladki Bahin Yojana

The Maharashtra government has extended the deadline for completing the mandatory e-KYC process under the Ladki Bahin Yojana to December 31 this year.

The earlier deadline of November 18 was postponed due to natural disasters and technical issues affecting many women across the state.

Women & Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare made the announcement, emphasizing that the extension is aimed at ensuring no eligible beneficiary misses out on the scheme.

Why the Extension Was Needed

Recent natural disasters destroyed homes, communication networks, and essential documents, making it difficult for women to complete the verification process.

Many beneficiaries also faced problems receiving OTPs for Aadhaar verification, especially if the Aadhaar-linked mobile number belonged to deceased husbands or fathers.

Minister Tatkare stated, “In many such situations, completing the e-KYC within the earlier deadline became impossible.

Considering these genuine hardships, the government felt it necessary to extend the timeline.”

How Women Can Complete e-KYC

The government has clarified documentation requirements for women facing OTP-related issues:

Women whose husbands or fathers are deceased must complete individual e-KYC and submit a certified copy of the death certificate.

Divorced women must provide a divorce certificate or court order to verify eligibility.

These measures ensure accurate verification while providing flexibility for women in unique personal circumstances.

Minister Tatkare urged beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC within the extended period to avoid last-minute delays, assuring that no eligible woman will be denied benefits due to technical issues or loss of documents.
