India’s leading digital payments platform, Paytm, has introduced a new reward system where users can earn digital gold with every transaction.
The announcement was made by One97 Communications, Paytm’s parent company, on Thursday.
Paytm has also launched a new AI-powered travel platform that includes a virtual assistant to help customers with trip planning and bookings.
Earn Gold Points on Every Transaction
Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma revealed that users will now earn Gold Points for every UPI and individual payment, which can later be converted into digital gold.
He added that this feature is designed to be simple and user-friendly, allowing people to earn gold effortlessly with each transaction.
There is no upper limit on how many rewards a user can earn. According to Sharma, no other app currently offers rewards at this scale.
How to Redeem Gold Points
Yugal Tiwari, Senior Vice President at Paytm, explained that users will earn 1 Gold Point for every ₹100 spent.
If the payment is made using a RuPay card, the reward points will be doubled.
Once a user’s Gold Points reach a value of ₹15, they can redeem them for digital gold.
The points continue to accumulate with each transaction, allowing users to convert them into gold anytime they wish.
New AI Assistant for Travel
Along with the gold rewards, Paytm has upgraded its travel platform with a new AI feature.
This AI assistant helps users with various travel needs — from planning their trips to booking tickets — making the process faster and more convenient.
