WhatsApp Introduces Private Q&A in Status Updates

WhatsApp has begun testing a new Status Question feature for Android users.

Right now, it’s available only to some beta testers on the Google Play Store, but it will be rolled out to more users in the coming weeks.

This feature is similar to Instagram’s Question Sticker, allowing viewers to send answers directly in a question box.

The unique part is that answers remain private—only the sender and receiver can see them.

How the Status Question Feature Works

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is gradually rolling out the Status Questions feature to beta testers in the latest Android update (version 2.25.29.12).

Not everyone will see it immediately, even with the latest beta version, as the company is first gathering user feedback and fixing potential bugs before a wider release.

With this feature, users can add a question box to their status along with a photo or video. Contacts can type in answers directly,

and multiple answers can be submitted for each question. These responses will appear in the Viewers List.

If a contact’s app doesn’t support this feature, WhatsApp will display the message:
“This feature isn’t currently supported on their version.”
