This launch will benefit more than 90 million BSNL wireless subscribers.

The company has also hinted that its 5G services could follow soon.

Why the Delay in BSNL 4G?

Earlier, BSNL had planned to launch 4G services across one lakh sites in India by August 15, 2025, but it could not meet the deadline. The main reason behind the delay was BSNL’s financial challenges.

To overcome this, the government provided a relief package, allocating spectrum and extending technological support.

The rollout is being supported by a consortium led by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), along with Tejas Networks and C-DOT (Centre for Development of Telematics).

Special Features of BSNL 4G

BSNL will be the only telecom company in India to offer 4G services on the 700 MHz band.

Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has directed BSNL to increase ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) by 50% and boost its enterprise business by 25-30% in the coming year.

Customers are eagerly waiting to see what kind of speed and coverage BSNL will provide once the service begins.
