SBI to Suspend Net Banking for Maintenance Every Morning (See Guidelines)

SBI Bank: The State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest government bank, has issued an alert for its crores of customers. Every morning, SBI’s online services, including net banking, will not be available for a short period.

Due to the regular system maintenance process, customers may face temporary disruption. Here’s when the service will be unavailable.

When Will Online Services Be Unavailable?

According to SBI’s official website, net banking services may be unavailable for 3 to 4 minutes daily between 4:45 AM and 5:45 AM.

This short disruption is because the bank performs essential system updates during this time to improve performance and security.

Why Is Maintenance Necessary?

Big banks like SBI carry out regular system upgrades to offer better and more secure services. These updates are generally scheduled during early morning hours when the usage of online banking is low.

  • OTP-Based Login: SBI has introduced OTP-based login for enhanced online banking security.

  • Change Password Every 180 Days: Customers are required to change their login password every 180 days.

  • Set a Different Profile Password: During your first login, you must create a profile password that is different from your login password. It should be strong—use letters, numbers, and special characters.

  • Lock/Unlock Feature: SBI offers a feature that allows customers to lock or unlock their net banking access themselves.
