LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana Offers Women a ₹7,000 Monthly (Process to Apply)

LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana is a good opportunity for women who want to work from home.

This scheme, run jointly by the Central Government and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), trains women to become LIC agents.

During the training, women receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 to ₹7,000.

After completing the training, they can start working as LIC agents in their own areas. The goal is to train one lakh Bima Sakhis every year.

What is the Bima Sakhi Yojana?

The main aim of this scheme is to help women in rural and semi-urban areas become financially independent.

Women chosen under the scheme are trained in insurance, financial awareness, how to deal with customers, and how to sell LIC policies.

After completing the training, they are given a Bima Sakhi certificate and a LIC agent code.

How Much Can Women Earn?

During the training period, women get ₹5,000 to ₹7,000 every month as a stipend. After becoming an LIC agent, they can earn through commissions and other incentives.

In the first year alone, a woman can earn up to ₹48,000 extra through this scheme.

If a woman wants to continue receiving the stipend for three years, she must ensure that at least 65% of the policies sold in the first year stay active in the second year.

Who Can Apply?

  • Only women can apply

  • Age should be between 18 and 70 years

  • Minimum qualification is 10th pass

Note: Current LIC agents, LIC employees, and their close relatives are not allowed to apply under this scheme.

How to Apply: Online and Offline Options

Online Application: Women can apply through LIC’s official website licindia.in or through the State Rural Livelihood Mission/CSC portal.

They need to upload documents like age proof, address, education certificate, bank details, and a passport-size photo.

Offline Application: Women can also apply by visiting their nearest LIC branch, CSC center, or panchayat office. Those selected will be informed about the training through SMS or email.

Chance to Become a Development Officer Too

During the three-year training period, women receive full knowledge of the insurance business.

Women who perform well and remain active can even be promoted to positions like LIC Development Officer.

This scheme not only helps women earn, but also supports their financial empowerment in the long term.
