HDFC Bank has announced that many of its digital services will be unavailable for a few hours on June 8, 2025, due to a system upgrade and scheduled maintenance. Axis Bank has also issued a similar notice for its credit card users.
When Will HDFC Bank Services Be Down?
According to the bank, maintenance work will be carried out on June 8 from 2:30 AM to 6:30 AM (Indian Standard Time). During this time, several digital services will not work.
What HDFC Services Will Not Be Available?
The following services will be affected during the maintenance window:
UPI services – Sending or receiving money won’t be possible
Net Banking and Mobile Banking App – Unavailable during this time
Fund Transfers – IMPS, NEFT, and RTGS services will not work
Account Management – Viewing account details or managing fixed deposits
Merchant Payments – Transactions linked to HDFC bank account will not go through
Instant Account Opening – This service will also be down temporarily
Bank’s Advice: Customers are advised to use the PayZapp wallet during this time.
What is PayZapp?
PayZapp is HDFC Bank’s digital wallet and virtual card service. It allows users to pay bills, shop, recharge, and transfer money without using a bank account or debit/credit card.
Non-KYC customers can do transactions up to ₹10,000 per month
KYC-verified customers can transact up to ₹2 lakh per month
What Problems Can Happen When UPI Is Down?
Since UPI is widely used for daily transactions, the downtime can cause several issues:
Failed transactions or bank server errors
Delays in refunds for failed payments
Issues in sending/receiving money which may impact small vendors or shopkeepers
Axis Bank Credit Card Services Also Affected
Axis Bank has informed customers that credit card transactions may be disrupted on June 6, 2025, from 2:00 AM to 2:45 AM.
What Should Customers Do?
If you are a customer of HDFC or Axis Bank, avoid digital transactions during these early morning hours on June 6 and June 8.
It is best to complete important payments in advance or use alternatives like PayZapp to avoid inconvenience.
