PM Internship Scheme Last Date Extended—Apply by 22nd April

Prime Minister Internship Scheme: This is a great opportunity for the youth of the country.

The Central Government has extended the last date to register for the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS) to 22 April 2025.

Earlier, the deadline was 15 April 2025. The extension is meant to help those students and young people who couldn’t apply earlier.

This scheme gives youth the chance to gain work experience before entering the job market. The goal is to empower young people and prepare them for future challenges.

What is the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS)?

The scheme was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget 2024–25. Its aim is to give young people professional work experience.

Under this scheme, selected candidates will intern with India’s top 500 companies, helping them improve their skills and boost their future job opportunities.

Internship Duration and Stipend

This internship will last 12 months. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000. Out of this, ₹500 will be given by the company based on attendance and performance.

The remaining ₹4,500 will be sent directly by the Central Government to the intern’s Aadhaar-linked bank account.

Additionally, each intern will receive a ₹6,000 one-time amount at the beginning of the internship.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the scheme, you must:

Be an Indian citizen

Be between 21 to 24 years old (as on 22 April 2025)

Not be in full-time employment or full-time study (online or distance learners are eligible)

Have completed SSC/HSC/ITI/Diploma/Graduation (e.g., BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA, BPharma, etc.)

How to Apply?

  1. Go to the official website: www.pminternship.mc.gov.in

  2. Choose your preferred language and click on ‘Youth Registration’

  3. Enter your 10-digit mobile number linked with Aadhaar

  4. Enter the OTP and click ‘Submit’

  5. Set a password and access your dashboard

  6. Complete your profile in the ‘My Current Status’ section

  7. Complete the eKYC process using Aadhaar

Note: Without completing your profile and eKYC, you won’t be able to apply. So, make sure to finish the process on time!
