YouTube has announced a major update for its popular Shorts platform, increasing the maximum video length to three minutes.
This update will be effective from October 15, and applies to videos with a square or taller aspect ratio.
In response to creator feedback, YouTube has also introduced new features such as templates that allow users to blend their YouTube videos directly with Shorts using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
With the new template feature, creators can easily participate in the latest trends by matching their clips with trending sounds, which can then be customized further.
Using the Remix option and templates, creators will be able to recreate Shorts content, keeping their videos fresh and in sync with popular trends.
Google DeepMind’s AI Model Coming to YouTube
In addition to the Shorts update, YouTube plans to introduce Google DeepMind’s Veo video generation AI model in the coming months.
This will allow creators to experiment with different video backgrounds and clips, expanding the possibilities of video creation.
YouTube continues to integrate AI technology to enhance content creation tools for its users.
YouTube Premium Price Hike in Multiple Countries
Alongside these feature updates, YouTube recently increased the price of its premium subscription in various countries.
This ad-free subscription now costs more in regions like Italy, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, and several others.
In some European countries, the single plan price has risen by approximately two euros, while the family plan price has surged by around 40%, from €17.99 to €25.99.
The price hike has also affected countries like Denmark, Indonesia, Malaysia, Norway, and Sweden.
