Yamaha India has announced significant price cuts for its premium motorcycles, the R3 and MT 03, making them more affordable by ₹1.10 lakh.
The revised ex-showroom price of the Yamaha R3 is now ₹3.60 lakh, down from the previous ₹4.70 lakh.
Similarly, the Yamaha MT 03 now costs ₹3.50 lakh, compared to the earlier price of ₹4.60 lakh.
The company has clarified that this price drop is not a stock clearance sale but a new pricing strategy. The updated prices will be effective starting February 1.
Yamaha R3: New Features and Specifications
The 2025 Yamaha R3 addresses previous user concerns by introducing several new features.
It now includes an assist and slipper clutch, along with a new LCD instrument console equipped with Bluetooth connectivity—a feature already available on the more affordable Yamaha R15 in India.
In terms of performance, the R3 is powered by a 321cc parallel-twin engine that delivers 41.4 bhp of power and 29.5 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The bike features KYB USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear for improved handling.
Braking is handled by disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, ensuring safety and control. The R3 is widely praised for its smooth and refined engine performance.
Competition and Market Availability
The 2025 Yamaha R3 will compete with rivals like the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 500, and Aprilia RS457 in its segment.
While the exact launch date for the 2025 variant in India has not been confirmed, it is expected to arrive sometime in 2025. Yamaha may introduce it as a Complete Build Unit (CBU).
