Xiaomi Removes Several Devices from Software Support

Xiaomi has surprised its users by adding several popular devices to its end-of-life (EOL) list.

Devices in this list will no longer receive the latest updates from Xiaomi, including MIUI updates and Android security patches.

Previously, in October, the company discontinued support for the Xiaomi Pad 5 and the Redmi Note 11 Pro series smartphones.

This time, the list includes popular models from both Redmi and Poco.

Devices No Longer Receiving Updates

Xiaomi has added nine devices from Redmi and Poco to the EOL list. These devices will no longer receive updates or security patches, making them vulnerable to potential risks. According to Gizmo China, the following devices are now on the list:

Redmi Note 11 SE

Redmi Note 11S 5G

Redmi Note 11S

Redmi Note 11 5G

Redmi Note 11

Redmi 10C

Redmi 10 2022

Poco X4 Pro 5G

Poco M4 Pro

Impact of End-of-Life and Next Steps

This move aligns with Xiaomi’s standard lifecycle policy for smartphone software support. Once devices are on the EOL list, they no longer receive critical updates or new features.

Over time, the lack of updates makes them less secure and more susceptible to cyber threats.

If you own any of these devices, it’s worth considering an upgrade to ensure better security and performance.

However, if security is not your top priority, you can still continue using these devices.

For tech-savvy users, installing a custom ROM with the latest Android version can help maintain the functionality of older devices.
