WhatsApp has introduced its first update of 2025, bringing an exciting feature that allows users to control chat message animations.
According to WABetaInfo, this feature was spotted in WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.25.1.10, available on the Google Play Store.
A shared screenshot reveals the details of this new feature, showing that WhatsApp is preparing to enable users to manage animations in both individual and group chats.
Animated Emojis and Personalized Options
This update will give users control over animations for emojis, stickers, and GIFs, offering three different management options.
The aim is to enhance the chatting experience by making it more personalized. The feature will also support recently introduced animated emojis.
If the autoplay option is disabled, these emojis will appear as static images instead of animated ones.
Users who prefer animations in GIFs rather than emojis can also benefit from this feature.
It is currently under development, but once beta testing is completed, the stable version will be rolled out globally.
New Photo and Video Sharing Interface
In addition to animation controls, WhatsApp is rolling out a new interface for sharing photos and videos. This new feature enables users to send multiple images
and videos with captions without needing to open the drawing editor. Both Android and iOS users are receiving this update gradually, and it will be available to all users within a few days.
These updates demonstrate WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to provide a more personalized and seamless experience for its users.
