WhatsApp users will soon get a new feature that allows them to link their social media accounts to their WhatsApp profile.
This feature is already available for business accounts and will now be introduced for regular users as well.
WhatsApp, owned by Meta, frequently brings new updates to improve user experience.
Feature Testing in Progress
Currently, WhatsApp is testing this feature for iPhone users. It is not yet available, but a screenshot reveals how it will work.
With this update, users can link their social media accounts directly to their WhatsApp profile, making it easier for people to find and connect with them across different platforms.
New Profile Section for Social Media Links
Reports suggest that WhatsApp will add a new section in profile settings where users can add links to their social media profiles.
This feature will be optional, meaning users won’t be required to link their accounts.
During testing, only Instagram is available, but before the official launch, options for Threads and Facebook are expected to be included.
Currently, users don’t need to sign in to add their Instagram profile, but this may change in the future.
WhatsApp to Offer Bill Payment Services
WhatsApp is also working on a feature similar to Google Pay and PhonePe. The company is testing a bill payment system that will allow users to pay bills
and recharge their mobile directly through WhatsApp. This feature is expected to roll out soon for all users.
