WhatsApp is developing several new features to enhance user experience.
While many features are still being developed, the Meta-owned messaging platform has launched a new feature for iPhone users.
This new feature lets users scan documents directly within the app and is available for iOS with the latest update.
WaBetaInfo reports that users no longer need to use third-party apps to scan documents.
This feature is being rolled out gradually, so if you haven’t received it yet, it should be available with the latest update in the coming weeks.
It is especially useful for those who need to share files quickly while on the go or multitasking.
Here’s how the feature works:
1. To use the new feature, WhatsApp users need to open a chat and go to the sharing menu, then select the Documents option.
2. Next, users will see the camera option. Tapping on it opens the camera, giving the option to scan. Users can then scan the documents and make edits.
3. Once finished, users can share the document. They can also crop the document and adjust its contrast and brightness.
New Feature Available Only for iOS Users
This feature is currently available only for iOS users, while Android users may have to wait a few more weeks.
Additionally, WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that allows users to apply AR effects, backgrounds, and filters during video calls.
This can be accessed via the wand icon in the camera and includes options like the goofy face effect, touch-up mode, low light mode, and customizable backgrounds.
