Telecom companies have shocked their customers this New Year. Jio had previously reduced the validity of one of its plans.
Now, Vodafone Idea (Vi) has increased the price of its cheapest plan.
This change will impact those who use small internet plans for occasional work. The new price for this plan is now displayed on the company’s website.
The price was increased last year as well
Vi had raised the price of its cheapest data plan in July last year, increasing it from Rs 19 to Rs 22.
Now, the price has gone up again. According to the company’s website, the plan is now priced at Rs 23.
This plan offers 1GB of internet data with a one-day validity. With the latest increase, users will now pay one extra rupee for this plan.
Jio’s plan also saw a change
Reliance Jio offers 1.5GB of data for Rs 19. Previously, the validity of this plan was the same as the base plan, but it has now been changed.
Users will still get 1.5GB of data for Rs 19, but the validity is now reduced to just one day. This means the plan will only be valid for one day.
Vi will launch 5G service by March
Vi has announced that it will launch 5G connectivity in 75 major cities across the country by March.
These cities include industrial hubs with high data consumption. The company may offer 5G recharge plans up to 15 percent cheaper than other providers.
This could put pressure on Airtel and Jio to lower the prices of their recharge plans.
