Vi Free International Roaming is now available as a built-in benefit on select prepaid, postpaid and enterprise plans, allowing eligible customers to use their existing Vi number while travelling across more than 170 countries.
The benefit can be used for up to three international trips a year, although the data allowance, outgoing calling minutes and validity depend on the specific plan.
Vi says the offer can provide savings of up to Rs 9,000 annually.

The new benefit is available with selected Vi plans rather than requiring customers to purchase a separate international roaming pack.
Eligible users can activate the benefit through the Vi App before travelling abroad.
For postpaid customers, eligible plans start at Rs 501. The offering also covers selected annual prepaid unlimited-data plans and enterprise plans starting at Rs 451.
The exact roaming benefits vary by plan. Customers may receive different international data quotas and outgoing calling allowances depending on the plan they have selected.
Existing Vi Number Can Be Used Abroad
One of the key features is that customers can continue using their existing Indian Vi number while travelling internationally.
This can help users remain reachable and continue receiving services linked to their number, including OTPs.
The offering is designed as an alternative to buying a local SIM, travel eSIM or separate international roaming pack before every overseas trip.
Vi has also highlighted common travel concerns such as unexpected roaming charges, dependence on public Wi-Fi and the inconvenience of changing mobile numbers while abroad.
